Violet Baudelaire | The Slippery Slope | A Series of Unfortunate Events | Makeup

Dear Reader,

If this is the first post that you found while browsing for a post to read, then the first thing you should do is close this window.
Sadly this post contains the next character in the chronicles of the makeup looks from A Series of Unfortunate Events, and is next-to-first in its supply of misery, despair, and unpleasantness.

(Paraphrased from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events Book the Twelfth: The Penultimate Peril)

If you are still reading (you rebel, you πŸ‘Œ), it is my displeasure to inform you that our next makeup look from the Netflix adaption of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is of Violet Baudelaire from The Slippery Slope.

(Picture via my Netflix account. Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire from A Series of Unfortunate Events S3 E2 The Slippery Slope: Part 2)

Violet's makeup look is more on the natural side (no heavy eyeshadows or lipsticks 😐), with quite a bit of blush to mimic the appearance of rosy skin on a cold, snow covered mountain.

If you are a glutton for punishment, you can watch my video tutorial here

What Will You Need For This Look?

1. Beige & Peach Matte Eyeshadows: Sweep a cool beige eyeshadow all over the eye, from lid to lash line, then take a light peach eyeshadow and blend that through the crease to create a soft, natural contour.

2. Matte Black Eyeshadow: Take a matte black shadow on an angled eyeshadow brush and press the shadow into the root of the eyelashes.
Push and stamp the shade across the lash line, but do not wing it out (Violet does not have winged liner) just follow your own natural lash line.
The key is to make it look like you aren't actually wearing anything on the lash line, you just have lovely lashes πŸ˜‰

3. White Eyeliner Pencil & Lengthening/Volumizing Mascara: To make eyes wider and brighter run a white eyeliner pencil along the lower water line.
Take a mascara that gives length and volume and apply it to the top and bottom lashes ("wiggle" the wand back and forth for more even product distribution)

*AWESOME PRODUCT ALERT!*: I was going to use false lashes to complete the eye look, but Urban Decay's Perversion mascara is so fantastic, it gave the effect of false lashes!

4. Cool Contour, Pink Blush, White Highlighter: Grab a taupe contour shade and run it under your cheekbone, stopping just before the apple of your cheek.
Take a cool-pink blush and blend it onto the apples of your cheek, along the cheekbone, and on the tip your nose.
Use a frosty white highlighter and apply it to the top of your cheekbones, under eyes, and down the bridge of your nose.

5. Brown-Pink Liquid Lipstick: Use a pinky-brown liquid lipstick and paint it onto your lips.
I wanted the color to be a bit more muted (to match Violet's more closely), so I blended a clear balm over the lipstick until it came up to shade that would be close to my natural one.

And finally...

We have our finished Violet Baudelaire makeup!

Now you are all set to start inventing and creating mechanical devices that will save you and your siblings from Count Olaf's clutches.

Just remember to tie your hair back with a ribbon for maximum thinking ability 😎

Yet again, if you are a sucker for misery, you can check out the video tutorial here

Violet's makeup look doesn't fluctate too much throughout Season three (her cheeks are just less rosy).
Since she is a teenager her makeup is kept more natrual, especially in contrast to Esme Squalor.

If you don't have quite enough despair in your life, stayed for more makeup from the final season of A Series of Unfortunate Events and subcribe via email so you won't miss a post.
