Pink Eyeshadow | Tutorial | Fall 2024 Trend

Hey Makeup Lovers!

Hope you're having a lovely fall 🍂
In honor of the new season, I'm kicking off my series of fall makeup trends.
And we're starting with a fun, vibrant pink eyeshadow tutorial.

You can catch my video tutorial here

Pink? For Eyes?

Yep, pink. Maybe it's a spill over from Barbie-core last year, or maybe pink was just tired of being confined to lips and cheeks, but either way pink eyes made quite a statement on the runway at Fashion Week.
Whether it was lined across the lids or smudged onto the inner corners, splashes of bright pink popped up on many of the major designers' stages.

There are quite a few options for pink shadows from powder to liquid, from light to bright.
Brighter, more intense pinks are what was popular at Fashion Week and today I'm going to show you how to wear a bright pink eyeshadow for everyday.

What Goes with Pink?

Honestly, almost everything goes with pink, Barbie knew her colors.
But, for my tutorial I went with a dark liquid liner to give a contrast to the deep pink shadow.
And a frosty pink lipstick pairs nicely with the matte pink eyeshadow too.
So, read on for my pink eyeshadow tutorial!

Tutorial

You can also watch my tutorial here

1. Matte, Bright Pink Eyeshadow: With a rounded eyeshadow brush cover your eyelids with a matte pink shadow up to the crease of your eye and blend lightly.
I used Hard Candy's Moods palette in Wink. The 'I' in the wink palette was the perfect shade.

2. Pink Highlight & Black Eyeliners: Dust a light pink eyeshadow (the 'W' in the Wink palette) all over your brow bone for a pearly highlight.
Next take a very black liquid liner and trace it across your top lash line, winging it out a just a bit at the outer corners of your eyes.
Then, with a black pencil liner, line the lower water line of your eyes for some extra intensity.

3 Purple & More Pink Highlight + Mascara: Use a matte violet eyeshadow to line along your lower lash line (the 'K' shade in the Wink palette).
Take more of the light pink eyeshadow and dust it on to the inner corners of the eyes.
Use a black volumizing mascara on top and bottom lashes to frame eyes.

4. Concealer + Contour + Liquid Blush: Clean up any fallout from the eyeshadow with a concealer that matches your skin tone.
Take a light bronze contour shade and run it under your cheek bone, angling upwards.
Dab a liquid coral-pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks and blend with your fingertips until softly diffused.

5. Cream Highlighter & Pink Frost Lipstick: Run a pearly white highlighter stick along the tops of your cheek bones and blend with your fingertips.
Finally, swipe a frosty pink lipstick on your lips for an extra shot of pink.

And we will have...

Our finished fall Pink Eyeshadow tutorial!

Pairing the vivid pink eyeshadow with an intense black eyeliner gives a lovely contrast and makes the pink eyeshadow less "circus" and more intentional in a put-together look.

Staying in the same color family for eyes, face, and lips keeps the whole look more balanced and complimentary.

Products I used for my Pink Tutorial:

Hard Candy: MOODs Shade Palette in Wink
Half Caked: 816 Crease Brush
Complex Culture: Precision Eyelid Brush
Eyeko: Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner
YC Collection: Island Eyeliner in San Juan

MAC Cosmetics X Disney's Cinderella Makeup Collection | Review & Tutorial

Once upon a time...
Just kidding !

Hey Makeup Lovers!

How has your summer been treating you?
Mine has been jam packed with multiple weddings both local and destination.
These have left little time for blogging. But I have been finding some incredible makeup across the last couple of months that I can’t wait to it share with you!

Starting things off with MAC Cosmetics Disney's Cinderella Collection re-release.

You can watch my video review & tutorial here

REVIEW

In honor of MAC’s 40th anniversary (Congratulations, MAC!🥳) they have been bringing back some of their most iconic makeup launches.
None more exciting, in my opinion, than their Disney Collections.

They brought back products from the Maleficent movie, the live-action Aladdin, and one of my favorites the 2015 live-action adaptation of Cinderella.

I honestly haven’t loved most of the live-action film adaptations of classic Disney movies (sorry, not sorry).
I’m a 90’s Disney kid and I have certain expectations for my Disney movies.😁

But I think the 2015 Cinderella stayed true to the original 1950s’s cartoon while giving enough extra background detail to be interesting.

So, I just had to get the Cinderella collection when it was re-released.
It sells out quickly on MAC’s website and it depends on which product you want.

MAC re-released three of the products from their Cinderella line:

Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

Cinderella Pigment Colour Powder in Pretty It Up

Lustreglass Lipstick in Royal Ball

Each product is packaged in the beautiful Cinderella blue shade🩵

Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

Each product comes in a MAC 40th inspired box, an update on the original ones from 2015.
But, these ones still have the lovely Cinderella silhouette and embellishments.

The packaging around the palette is cardboard in a pretty baby blue shade with golden accents.
A very Cinderella-esque color scheme.

The Stroke of Midnight eyeshadow palette has six shades.
The shades are very much in the taupe family of colors but ranging from deeper and lighter with varying finishes and effects.

Vapourize – Light Peach with violet blue sparkles and a shimmer finish.
(A close duplicate for this shade is MAC's Shroom)

Phloof! – Beige with a velvety frost finish.
(MAC’s Vex is a close dupe).

Omega – Light, Muted Brown with a matte finish.
Part of MAC’s permanent collection.

Quarry – A light mauve with a gray hint to it and a matte finish.
(the closest dupe from MAC is Scene, it's a bit deeper and leans more towards blue undertones).

Satin Taupe –  A deep taupe with silver shimmer and a lovely frost finish that borders on metallic.
Part of MAC's permanent collection.

Stroke of Midnight – A Deep Violet with pink sparkles and a shimmer finish.
(A hard one to dupe. MAC's Greystone is a similar shade, but has a matte finish. MAC's Stary Night is similar in tone, but a bit lighter and has a duo chrome finish.)

Quick Stats:

BrandMAC Cosmetics
Product: Disney's Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette
Color: Multiple
Finish:
Matte (2), Shimmer (2), Frost (2)
Formula: Pressed Powder
Fallout: Minimal
Chalky/Flaky : No/No
Blendable: Yes
Lasts for: 8+ Hours

ProsA variety of taupe shades that are universally flattering on all skin tones and eye colors.
Easy to blend and buff.
With the variety of shades you can effortlessly create different eye looks whether you're picking up after two selfish step-sisters or going to a royal ball.
Very long-lasting, these shadows could definitely last until midnight.

ConsI'm pretty pleased with these shadows, no real cons.

Star Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)

Would I Re-PurchaseDefinitely.

Final Thoughts: Very blendable, long lasting, minimal fallout all included in the beautiful shade range of this palette makes it a dream (which is a wish your heart makes😉).

Cinderella Pigment Colour Powder in Pretty It Up

No Disney look would be complete without some fairy and/or pixie dust (just ask Tinkerbelle).
And Fairy Godmother MAC didn't leave us hanging. They brought back one of the loose pigment from their Cinderella collection.

The shade is "Pretty It Up". If you recall, that was one of Fairy Godmother's line in the movie.
If you haven't seen it yet, go watch it now, I'll wait.

Pretty It Up comes in a generous sized bottle with a pretty Cinderella blue lid.

The shade is a deep, bronze-y taupe with gorgeous golden sparkle.
You can use this on eyes (see my tutorial below) or dust it onto lips or top cheek bones for a bronzing effect.

Quick Stats:

BrandMAC Cosmetics
Product: Disney's Cinderella Pigment Colour Powder
Color: Deep Taupe
Finish:
Shimmer
Formula: Loose
Fallout: A little
Chalky/Flaky : No/No
Blendable: Yes
Lasts for: 6+ Hours

ProsOutstanding sparkle and shimmer that gives the most gorgeous effect when placed on eyes, lips, or face. Good staying power and is easy to work with using either a brush or fingertips.

ConsSince it is a loose pigment there is a little fallout, but it's pretty easy to clean up.

Star Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)

Would I Re-PurchaseYes

Final Thoughts: Stunning loose pigment that really adds that little extra something to your makeup look. Versatile and has rather good staying power.

Lustreglass Lipstick in Royal Ball

This box had so many cool detail that I had to photograph it from every angle.

I was almost more amused by the package design than by the product😅

Hopefully this is building hype for the final product.

Traditional MAC bullet shaped lipstick tube, but with the lovely light blue and gold details that has encompassed the entire Cinderella collection.

Royal Ball is a charming light coral shade with a sheer lustre finish.

Quick Stats:

BrandMAC Cosmetics
Product
: Disney's Cinderella Lustreglass Lipstick
Name of Shade: Royal Ball
Color: Light Coral
Finish: Sheer, Lustre
Smudges/Drying: No/No
Lasts for: 3-4 Hours

ProsA lipstick fit for a princess. The subtle shade gives lips just a hint of color in a lovely finish that highlights your natural lip color in a very pretty way.

Cons: The sheer formula only last for 3-4 hours.

Star Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)

Would I Re-Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: Such a pretty shade, perfect for doing a natural makeup look. Comfortable to wear, with a light sheer finish.

Tutorial

Before the clock strikes midnight I have a tutorial for you using MAC's Cinderella Collection.
Hold on to your glass slippers because here we go. 🕛

You can also watch my tutorial here

1. Omega + Blending Brush: Take the shade Omega on a crease brush and work it all the way around the crease of your eye.
Then use a blending brush to soften and diffuse the line of shadow.
No harsh lines in a Disney Princess look.

2. Satin Taupe and a Flat Brush: Saturate lids with the Satin Taupe shade on a flat brush. Cover lids completely and blend a little into Omega.

3. Phloof! on the Brow Bone: With the frosty shade Phloof! dust across your brow bone for a subtle highlight.
Then use the blending brush from earlier to soften the transition from Phloof! into Omega.

4. Line Eyes with Stroke of Midnight: With an angled eyeshadow brush line top lashes with Stroke of Midnight.
On a flat liner brush line lower lash line with the same shade.
Leave lower water line blank or use a cream or skin tone liner. We want to create a wide-eyed effect, like a Disney Princess would have.

5. Vapourize + Small Eyeshadow Brush: Take the shade Vapourize on a small brush and dust it along the inner corners of your eyes.
This will also help give a wide-awake look.

6. Pretty It Up Pigment + Mascara + Contour & Highlight: With a fluffy brush lightly tap some of the loose pigment in Pretty It Up onto the center of your lids for some extra sparkle.

I received a sample of MAC's MACstack Micro Brush mascara with my Cinderella order, so I used it to put two or three coats on my top lashes.
Add about one coat to your lower lashes, but don't go crazy, we want them to still look natural.

I used a light brown matte contour shade and ran it under my cheek bones and blended it out quite a bit. Again, no harsh lines for a Disney Princess look.
I then dusted a pearly off-white highlighter on the tops of my cheek bones and temples for little more glow.

7. Liquid Blush & Royal Ball Lipstick: Next I dabbed a pretty pink liquid blush onto the apples of my cheeks and blended it in with my fingertips. You need a nice flush if you're doing Disney Princess makeup.
Finally, I swiped Royal Ball lipstick onto my lips.

Add all these steps together and Bibbidi bobbidi boo, we will get...

Our finished MAC Disney's Cinderella Collection makeup look!
From eyes to lips these shades are a fairytale come true!

You can create an entire eye look just using the Stroke of Midnight palette.
The darker shadows are so pigmented, they make great liners.

The Lustreglass lipstick is so pretty. It really brings out the natural shade of your lips with a light coral wash of color.

The loose pigment on the center lids gives eyes that little bit of extra sparkle.

Full list of products I used:

Charlotte Tilbury | Pillow Talk - On The Go Kit | Review + Tutorial

Hey Makeup Lovers,

Hope spring is treating you well and that it's not as rainy as it has been here in New York ☔
Today I have a review and tutorial for you of one of my favorite brands: Charlotte Tilbury.
And these products come in a cute kit that you can easily carry with you on-the go!

You can watch my video review + tutorial here

REVIEW

Pillow Talk On the Go Kit features five mini beauty products in the iconic 'Pillow Talk' shade that Charlotte Tilbury is famous for.
I purchased this one from Ulta Beauty. It retails for $54 (use those Ulta reward points!)

The packaging itself is adorably feminine with pretty pink colors and lip prints, along with the signature 'CT' Charlotte Tilbury logo.

The side of the box has a quote from Charlotte herself about her incredible, universally flattering shade: "Pillow Talk is not just a colour, it's a world! A beauty dream, a place to discover the most beautiful you!"

This kit gives you travel sizes of her eyeliner pencil, mascara, lip liner, liquid blush, and lipstick.
They are pretty generous for travel sizes and you will get a lot of use out of each one.
Another perk of this kit is that you get to try several of these products for about the price of one or two of the full-sizes.
It's a good way to figure out which ones you really love and want to purchase full sizes of.

Let's look at each product individually and see how they rate.

Again, you can see my video review here

Mini Pillow Talk Eyeliner

Product: Eyeliner
Name of Shade: Pillow Talk
Color: Berry Brown
Finish: Matte
Formula: Cream, Pencil
Waterproof: Yes
Smudges/Streaks/Runs: No/No/No
Lasts for: 8+ Hours

Pros: Soft and blendable, perfect for creating precise lines or blending out for a smoky effect.
Lasts for hours with no smudging or fading.
Waterproof with excellent staying power in the water line of the eye.

Cons: I don't love the color with my skin tone. The berry shade makes my eyes look bloodshot.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭑⭑ ( 3 out of 5)

Would I Purchase a Full Size: Not in this shade, but I would in another.

Final Thoughts: A great eyeliner that gives you all kinds of options for wear. Long-lasting with all day staying power. Not a fan of the specific shade.

Travel Size Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! Mascara

Product: Mascara
Name of Shade: Black
Color: Black
Waterproof: Yes
Formula: Lengthening, Volumizing, Lifting
Wand Shape: Diamond
Lasts for: 15 Hours
Smudges/Flakes: No/No

Pros: Super gorgeous formula that gives lashes incredible lift and volume.
The wand has two sides; one loads lashes with coats of lash hugging, super pigmented mascara, and the other side has ingenious bristles that grabs every lash and combs through them for a perfect separated and wide eyed effect.
It's waterproof and cry-proof, I put it to the test!

Cons: None, literally none.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(5 out of 5. Could be a 6!)

Would I Purchase a Full Size: Absolutely!

Final Thoughts: A remarkable mascara that checks all of the boxes. Lasts forever and can stand up against water. A full size is about $29 (oh, so worth it for what it does) or another travel size is about $15.

Name of Shade: Pillow Talk
Color: Nude Pink
Finish: Matte
Waterproof: Yes
Smudges/Feathers: No/No

Pros: I recently reviewed this lip liner which came in another set and I'm still a big fan.
This liner applies smoothly and seamlessly and allows you to resize or add fullness to your lip shape.
The shade is the perfect neutral so your lips don't look fake or altered in any way.
It has lasted for up to 8 hours for me, even through eating and drinking.
I love this shade, Pillow Talk, but it comes in multiple other shades as well.

Cons: None.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)

Would I Purchase a Full Size: Yes

Mini Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk Original

ProductLipstick

Final Thoughts: There is a reason this lipstick and shade have won so many awards and such recognition: because it is incredible!
The Pillow Talk shade is so fantastically flattering for all skin tones and the formula is unlike any other giving lips such a gorgeous appearance.

TUTORIAL

You can see my video tutorial here

1. Pillow Talk Eyeliner: Trace the Pillow Talk mini liner across the top lash line of your eyes. Start with a few short strokes of color using the side of the liner and then connect them. Use the tip of the liner for a small, precise wing at the end.
Use the same liner to gently trace along the water line of the eyes.
Also run a little bit of the liner between lashes on the lower lash line.

2. Push Up Lashes Mascara + Concealer, Contour & Highlight: Apply several coats of Pillow Talk mascara to top and bottom lashes.
Use a concealer under the eyes to clean up any mistakes.
Run a light brown contour shade between your cheek and jaw bone and blend it out.
Dust a shimmery highlighter on the tops of your cheek bones.

3. Pillow Talk Beauty Blush Wand: Use the Beauty Blush Wand and place a few dots around the apples of your cheeks.
Use your fingertips to blend the color seamlessly into your skin.

4. Pillow Talk Lip Liner & Lipstick: Using the lip cheat lip liner trace along your lip line, reshaping if you feel the need to as you go.
Finally, fill in your lips in with the amazing Pillow Talk lipstick.

Put all these Pillow Talk shades together and we have...

Our finished Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk On the Go Kit makeup look!
Using all the products in the kit can get you a pretty complete look, but I add a few extras.

The berry-brown shade of eyeliner looks lovely on the top lashes with some complimentary brown or bronze shadow.
The Push Up Lashes mascara gives lashes all kinds of beautiful effects from lifting to lengthening.

The Beauty Blush Wand really gives the most perfect flush to cheeks; natural, but noticeable.
And the Pillow Talk shade of lip liner and lipstick are so flattering no matter your skin tone or occasion you are attending. It just works.
