Dear Reader,
You have obviously clicked on this posted by mistake, because there is nothing but misery and horror contained in the words and pictures of this makeup tutorial of A Series of Unfortunate Events characters.
You would be much better off closing this window and finding a more pleasant and happy blog post to read.
(Paraphrased from my memory of the back cover of every Lemony Snicket book).
We are finally on to Part 2 of Esme's Slippery Slope makeup.
ICYMI you can catch Part 1 here
Now we're on to Esme's "fashion on fire" makeup.
(Picture via my Netflix account. Lucy Punch as Esme Squalor from A Series of Unfortunate Events S3 E2 The Slippery Slope: Part 2)
Gold, glitter, red eyeshadow and lipstick are the main components of this devastatingly evil Esme look.

What You Will Need
1. Matte Brown Eyeshadow: Trace a warm, matte brown shadow through the crease of the eye, from the outside corner all the way through to the inner corner.
2. Red Eyeshadow (or pigment) & Blending Brush: Take a red shadow and blend it onto the outer half of the eyelid. Blend and build color as you go until you reach a nice opaque.
3. Gold Metallic Eyeshadow: Place a shimmery metallic gold shadow on the remaining portion of the lid and into the inner corner of the eye.
4. White Shimmer Shadow, Black Liquid Liner & White Eyeliner: Apply a white shimmer eyeshadow to the brow bone for a highlighter effect.
Line top lash line with a black liquid liner pen and wing it out just slightly.
And run a white eyeliner pencil along the lower water line of the eye.
5. Black Eyeshadow, Lengthening Mascara, Glitter Shadow & Lashes: Run a matte black shadow along the lower lash line.
Use a lengthening mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
Take your middle finger and use it to add some red & gold glitter shadow to the lids and inner corners (for the gold).
Then apply false lashes, no Esme look is complete without them. Also, put some gold glitter or shadow on the outer tips of the false lashes.
6. Light Brown Contour Shade, Bright White Highlighter, Red Blush: Run contour shade under cheekbones, starting near the middle of your ear and stop about half way across your cheek (see video) and blend.
Take a frosty highlighter and hit the top of your cheeks, forehead, and down your nose.
Take a small amount of the red pigment or eyeshadow and blend it into the apples of your cheeks.
7. Warm Red Lipstick: To complete Esme's makeup, add lipstick in a warm red shade.
Which brings us to...
Our finished product: Esme on Mount Fraught terrorizing the Baudelaire orphans.
The slight hint of gold on the outer tips of the lashes gives the look a nice touch of "in" influence 😉
The frosty highlighter on the brow bone and tops of the cheeks tie in the theme of snow capped mountain tops nicely 🏔
Minus the fluffy orange hat and braided pigtails, we have come pretty close to Esme's look in part two of The Slippery Slope.
