Too Faced | Cookie House Party Makeup Collection | Tutorial & Review

Hey Lovelies!

I wanted to write this post a while ago, but so much kept happening.

However, this palette is too pretty to let go by without a mention.

Last I checked it is still available for purchase on Amazon and eBay.

But, even if you don't have this particular palette, if you have shadows in similar colors the tutorial will still be beneficial 😌

I purchased my palette from Sephora. I buy a lot of my palettes from Sephora because I love the beauty offers and free samples that come with an online order.

Review

The house palette "breaks" apart into three separate palettes.

It has 20 different finished eyeshadows, three face products, and four glitter and two matte eyeshadows. Plus it includes travel-sized Shadow Insurance 24 Hour Eye Shadow Primer, Better Than Sex mascara, & Melted Matte liquid lipstick in Gingerbread Man.

Let's take a look at the "House" part of the palette first with some swatches!

Truly lovely pressed powder eyeshadows in multiple shades and finishes. 

The mattes are not chalky or flaky and there is very minimal fallout, even with the shimmers.

They last from 8-10 hours without fading or creasing (even longer if you use the primer). 

They are velvety soft, super blendable and have buildable coverage so you can get a light hit of color or a more intense pigment.

The box claims the palette is gingerbread scented, it smells more like a sugar cookie to me, but it still is a nice fragrance. 

Let's take the shades column by column.

Now onto the "roof" palette

Cute little candies decorate the outside of the palette 🍬

The face palette comes with a pressed powder highlighter, blush, and bronzer (also works for contouring)

They all are long lasting and blendable.

The only one that has a bit of a drawback is the bronzer; it crumbles a bit in the pan from the brush, no matter how light a touch is used. It still applies nicely.

 

Get Frosted (Highlighter): Champagne-Beige with gold shimmer and pearly finish.

Daydreamer (Blush): Rose, matte finish

Extra Toasty (Bronzer): Light Chocolate, matte finish.

And the "door" piece of the palette

Four beautiful sparkling pressed glitter eyeshadows and two pressed powder matte eyeshadows.

The glitter shadows: apply nicely with a 'press-and-roll' motion of the middle finger (see video for tutorial). They are buildable in coverage but don't blend well - although I don't think glitters need to be blended - so no real drawback there. Minimal fallout.

The matte shadows: Excellent for contouring and highlighting the eyes, super blendable, virtually no fallout.

On to the Lipstick!

Super cute gingerbread men on the cap of the lipstick🍪

A pretty spice shade liquid lipstick with a comfortable matte finish.

Not too drying, doesn't streak or smudge, and is seriously long lasting.

It also has a sweet spiced-ginger scent to it.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5).

I have reviewed the mascara and primer in previous posts.

They are both fantastic! Mascara gives mega length to lashes and primer keep eyeshadow in place forever!

Tutorial

1. Primer & Light Brown Shadow: Apply Shadow Insurance to lid with your ring finger and then buff What a Batch through the crease of the eye with a small angled brush.

2. Add a Bronze Shadow: Take the shade Kiss & Caramel on a laydown brush and press it onto the lid. 

3. Dark Magenta Shadow & Blend: Using a small flat brush to run That's My Jam through the crease, then take a blending brush to soften and fuse the crease shades together.

4. Forest Green & Off-White Shadows: Take a small, rounded brush and apply Drink Up, Grinches to the outer "V" of the eye, then add Tinsel Town to the inner corner of eye, blend the seams of each color gently.

5. Black Shadow Liner,  More Green Shadow & Black Eyeliner Pencil:

On an angled eyeshadow brush take Hot & Coal and run it along the upper lash line winging it out at the end slightly. Line lower lash line with Drink Up, Grinches. Use a black eyeliner pencil to line the lower water line of the eyes.

6. Peach Shadow, Mascara & Concealer: Add a dusting of Cream Filling on the brow bone, apply mascara to top and bottom lashes, and clean up any fallout with concealer under the eyes.

7. Bronzer, Highlighter, Blush & Brown Glitter Shadow: Run Extra Toasty under cheekbones blending towards the apples of the cheeks, 

dust Get Frosted on top of cheeks, along bridge of nose, and on high points of the face, 

swirl Daydreamer on the apples of the of the cheeks. 

Dip middle finger into All My Wishes and "press and roll" (see video) onto center of eye lid.

8. Matte Liquid Lipstick: Take Gingerbread Man lipstick and trace along the lip line, then fill in the lips with even swipes.
