Urban Decay | Wired Palette Review + Tutorial (with Swatches!)

Hey my lovely people!

I have wanted to write this review and tutorial for you for months but due to all my dental woes (surgery and two root canals in less than three months) I been delayed.

But finally here is my review of Urban Decay’s Wired pressed pigment palette!

You can watch my video tutorial with UD's Wired palette here

DISCLAIMER: There is an asterisk (*) after the face and body shades and it says on the back of the palette “*IMPORTANT: Switch, Savage, Slowburn and Gravity are not for use around the eye.”

In the past I've used face products as eyeshadows, but they never had a specific disclaimer.
So, I have not used the above mentioned shades on my eyes and I would recommend you not doing so either.

Quick Wired Palette Rundown:

I was so stoke when I saw that UD was coming out with a new colorful palette.
No offense to the Naked palettes which I love (have you seen the new Ultra Violet one??? NEED!) but I also want a palette with a lot of different colors: enter Wired palette.
This palette has six colors for eyes, body & face and then it has four shades for just face and body.

Brand: Urban Decay

Name of Palette: Wired Pressed Pigment

Number of Shades:10

Color: Multiple

Finish: Shimmer, Matte

Formula: Pressed Pigments

Needs Layering: Some Shades
Lasts for: 10+ Hours
Fallout: Minimal

Pros: Brilliant bright hues that give such a fun summer vibe. Nice finishes that last for hours without creasing or caking. Versatile uses for each shade makes this palette the ultimate multi-tasker.

Cons: Some of the matte shades are slightly chalky and need a few layers to reach palette shade.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Repurchase: Yes

Tutorial

Here is a breakdown of the steps and products from my video tutorial using the Wired palette

1. Primer, Fluorescent, and concealer: Start with an eyeshadow primer all over the eye and then blend Fluorescent (cyan blue) through the crease blending up and out. After, take a concealer brush and use concealer to "erase" any shadow that has migrated onto lid, etching out to a winged shape.

2. A Flat Brush and Shock Shadow: Use a flat brush to fill in the lid with Shock (fuchsia pink shade) and take it out of the corner to form a wing .

3. Black Eyeliner Pencil & an Angled Eyeshadow Brush: Take an eyeliner pencil and run it along the upper lash line, then use an angled brush to blend it.

4. Liner & Chaos: Take the black liner across the lower water line and then run Chaos (indigo blue) across the lower lash line with a small brush.

5. Glitch & Black Mascara: Take Glitch (snow white shade) and blend it onto brow bone, then add a volumizing black mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

6. Gravity, Savage & Glitch: Use Gravity (dark violet shade) to contour under cheek bones, then use Glitch (snow white shade) to highlight tops of cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose, and forehead. Finally, takes Savage (hot pink shade) and blend it onto apples of cheeks.

7. Purple Liquid Lipstick: To finish off the look I used a metallic liquid lipstick for fun.

and finally:

I blended a cool toned brown contour shade over the violet to tone it down and make the look a little more wearable for those who are just getting into more intense colors and only want to go with dramatic eyes.
