As this year is coming to an end I have one more party makeup look for you.
And this one is full-on with sparkles and lashes. Let's go out with a bang for 2023.
I've shown you Neutral Party Makeup and Bold Party Makeup in the last few weeks.
But, what better way to close out December than with a Glam Party Makeup look?
So, get ready for a party look that will have you sparkling brighter than that sphere we watch drop every year.

What Exactly is Glam Makeup?
Glam or "Glamorous" makeup is typically derived from classic Hollywood.
The starlets of the day (think Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, even Audrey Hepburn) wore makeup that was pretty but at the same time intense.
Whether it was long lashes and red lipstick (Monroe and Mansfield) or strong eyeliner and nude lipstick (Hepburn) glamourous was not just in the makeup that they were wearing but in they way they carried themselves; with total confidence.
Today's glam makeup has evolved quite a bit.
From strong pops of color to all over glitter, glam has a much broader definition now.
Just Googling 'glam makeup' will give you a plethora of varying results.
To me, glam makeup will always be that Golden Age of Hollywood look, but with some modern updates.
So, shimmery, sparkly eyes, dramatic lashes, medium to strong contour, pearly highlighter, a blush to tie it together, and a nude or red lip (depending on my mood).
Color Eyeshadow or Not?
This is really more of a personal preference.
For me, when I choose to do a glam eyeshadow I'm leaning more towards silvers or golds.
They just stand out to me as more glam. And they are a bit more versatile than some other colors.
Does that mean it's 'wrong' to use colorful eyeshadow in a glam makeup look?
Absolutely not! If you like color, bring it on, it's your makeup and you should wear whatever makeup you feel most comfortable and confident in.
I would suggest that whatever color you use, go with a shimmer or metallic finish.
You can go with matte and still get a glam look (Marilyn did). But with more modern glam, sparkling eyes sell it a bit more.
How Do I Get a Glam Makeup Look?
I'm so happy you asked because I have a glam makeup tutorial I've been dying to share with you!

1. Metallic Silver Eyeshadow: Start things off by using a fluffy eyeshadow brush to completely saturate your eyelid with silver metallic eyeshadow. Blend from lash line up to about the crease of your eye.
2. Black Shadow + Blending + Cream Colored Shadow: Next, take a matte black eyeshadow on a small crease brush and run it through the crease of your eye. Gently run the shadow back and forth, giving it a slight 'wing' at the outer end of the eye.
Use a blending brush and run it over the black shadow in a windshield-wiper type motion to soften and blend the shadow upwards just a tad.
Then, use a matte cream colored eyeshadow and dust it along the brow bone to give a subtle highlight to the eye.
3. Eyeliners, More Black Shadow + Mascara & Lashes: With a black liquid eyeliner pen draw a thin line across your top lash line and wing it out a tad.
Take a black pencil liner and trace it along your lower water line.
On an angled eyeliner brush take more of the black eyeshadow and run it across your lower lash line to build intensity.
Coat top and bottom lashes with a volumizing mascara.
Apply false lashes to your lash line and if you need to cover the seams (I did) use a little liquid liner.
4. Extra Silver, Conceal & Contour: On a small shader brush take more of the silver shadow and dust it into the inner corners of your eyes for extra sparkle.
Use a concealer in your shade to clean up under the eyes.
With a matte medium brown contour shade run it just under your cheek bone and round it up towards the apples of your cheeks. Blend any harsh lines with your fingertips.
5. Liquid Highlighter & Powder Blush: With a liquid highlighter (I used one from a Charlotte Tilbury set I purchased, stay tuned for that review!) dab it across the tops of your cheek bones and into the temples. Use your fingertips to blend and meld it into skin.
Use a matte neutral toned blush and swirl it onto the apples of your cheeks and blend it into your contour shade, bringing all the face shades together.
6. Nude Lip Liner & Lipstick: Trace the outline of your lips with a nude lip liner.
Then fill in the lips with a matching nude lipstick to finish off your look.
Put all these steps together and we get...

Our finished Silver Glam Party Makeup Look!
The metallic silver and matte black eyeshadows create a dramatic contrast to the eyes that really gives you that "new glam" effect.
Using a shimmery highlighter but a matte/satin blush and lipstick gives us the glam vibe without overpowering the face with sparkle, which wouldn't be glam, that would be My Little Pony.
